Mission San Jose and the Weibel hills sit near the wildfire interface, where a clean flue and a working spark arrestor matter. The 1980s tracts have brick with tile liners or prefab metal units.

Yes. We seal the opening, sweep the full flue, clean the smoke shelf and check the damper. If the flue is unlined or we see damaged brick we recommend a mason and a Level 2 camera inspection, which we do not do ourselves.
Do you check the spark arrestor on a Mission San Jose chimney?
We look at the cap from the roof where we can reach it and tell you if the screen is missing or clogged. We do not replace caps.
